How to survive in the new world

The 21st century: a survival guide

The twenty-first century is unquestionably a survival of the fittest epoch. With the rise of technology, social movements, social issues, and extreme political matters, it’s becoming more difficult for the average Joe to stay on track!

If you want to know how to survive in the 21st century, you’ve come to the right place.  Today, I will be giving you five tips that you can follow to keep a cool head and stay on your path in this new world:

#5 Distractions are everywhere, avoid them at all costs

It’s much easier to get sidetracked from the vital things in life now that cell phones, laptops, and tablets have taken over the world.

This is especially true, regrettably, for the younger generation. We have a tendency to judge our success and growth by what others share on social media. Facebook and Instagram have become go-to places to kill boredom, but they’ve also evolved into places where comparison and clout reign supreme.

If you’re having trouble with social media, I recommend taking a complete sabbatical for at least a week. This will make you understand that there is a lot more going on in the world than you may assume.

#4 Listen to yourself, not to others

Many people allow their needs and attitudes to be influenced by those around them. They then choose a life path that they are ultimately dissatisfied with. Regret sets in as they reflect on how things might have turned out if they had taken the path they desired.

Only once are we given the gift of life. As a result, it’s critical that we make the most of the opportunities that come our way.

It’s just as important to pursue the path WE WANT to pursue and not the path other people want for us. Ultimately, what matters, is our happiness and how we choose to live our lives.

My advice is to always plan the next move in your life diligently to ensure that it’s a step forward and not a step backward!

#3 Work your butt off!

Some know it as sweat-equity, some now it as the Grind.

The truth is that hard effort is something that you will never be able to take away from you.

Many people seem to be living in their own reality, where hard work does not appear to be required for success. They believe they are deserving of success and that it will be handed to them on a silver platter without them having to do anything.

Many people talk about becoming successful, but only a small percentage actually do so. I mean, it’s great to have a happy and upbeat attitude, but it has to be accompanied by hard work and devotion if you want to improve your lifestyle.

Work hard, even during the times you feel like you are mentally and physically drained.  Believe me, you WILL reap the benefits!

“Do what others won’t today, to be what others can’t tomorrow!!”

#2 Increase your knowledge each day

Knowledge is extremely powerful.

If you think about it, you’ll realize that knowledge is something that can never be taken away from you. It’s not like a drill can sneak into your head and steal your information. Once you’ve obtained it, it’s stored in your brain, where only you are aware of its location.

By constantly growing and increasing your knowledge, you dramatically increase the number of doors of opportunity that might otherwise remain closed.

Who knows, maybe the knowledge you gain will one day save your life!

#1 Stay humble

I see a lot of people who let money, fame, and fortune overwhelm their lives to the point where they become egotistical and selfish.

When money and authority are misused, they can give you a false sense of power and invincibility. When you achieve success, the most essential thing to remember is where you started.

Failure, frustration, and disappointment are all part of the process of achieving success. When they reach the top, many people forget their roots and ignore those who have always stayed by their side, even when everything appeared to be going downward.

Keep your feet on the ground, even when your head is in the clouds.

Conclusion

The twenty-first century appears to be a never-ending rat race.

Ultimately, keeping on track at this age is a difficult task. Many people will only discover this after a lot of trial and error.

You offer yourself a lot better chance of keeping a cool head in this dense jungle we call the twenty-first century if you follow these five key suggestions. Stay committed, focused, and true to yourself!
