Supercharging your productivity

Supercharging your productivity

What is productivity?

Most of us interpret it as “simply getting shit done.” Plain and simple, right?

Wrong.

Being productive entails much more than just completing your daily chores or ticking off something on your to-do list.  Productivity is a multi-dimensional concept, and several factors determine how productive you really are.

So, what does being productive mean?

Productivity is determined by dedication, perseverance, planning, proper time management, and attention to detail.  Let’s assume that you have a list of tasks that you need to accomplish daily, and let’s say one of those tasks is to vacuum your living room.  Now, this can be done either in a productive way, or it can be done in a hasty, sloppy manner.  You see, a productive person will ensure that every visible surface in that living room is sparkling clean.  An unproductive person will leave dirty patches here and there, not really paying attention to detail.

Do you get my drift? I think you do.

Productivity means doing something to the ABSOLUTE BEST of your abilities and making the most out of your abilities.  But, to be a productive person, you need to learn certain habits that will ultimately help you to increase your output.

Let’s take a look at some of these habits…

10 habits that will help you to become a more productive person:

  • Rising early
  • Planning every day in great detail
  • Dividing our tasks into equal time slots
  • Exercise
  • Eating healthy
  • Prioritizing your tasks from most important to least important
  • Surrounding yourself with goal-driven people
  • Being willing to learn from more knowledgeable people
  • Practicing a structured morning routine and sticking to it
  • Avoiding multitasking

These are only some of the core habits, there are many more when it comes to boosting productivity.  Ultimately, productivity is also determined by your mindset.  If you constantly allow negative thoughts to dwell in the realms of your mind, your hopes of becoming a more productive person are flushed down the drain.

Practice positive thinking, irrespective of the situation you find yourself in.

Final thoughts

Ultimately, very few people on our planet are truly productive.  It comes as no surprise that the most productive people are more often than not the most successful.

If you’re trying to become more a more productive person, start by adopting a positive mindset and by adopting a structured, daily routine.  This will teach you 2 things:

  • Discipline
  • Dedication

With these 2 characteristics, you’re 99% there.  You need to realize that if you truly want to be successful in all aspects of your life, I’m talking mentally, physically, and financially, you need to start prioritizing the people, passions, and commitments you have.  Once you find that balance between having the right people in your life, knowing your deepest passions, and realizing your most important commitments, the sky is the only limit!
